ok here are a couple pics of my boat. it has a johnson seahorse cd17 motor on it that runs good. the boat is a 14' aluminum modified v-bottom. has a dent in the front floor but doesnt leak at all. very stable boat. painted tan with the intention of camo. motor has tank and hose set up. no trailer right now but planned on gettin one for it but would probably cost around 200-300 bucks more. no lights on boat.

what do you think this would be worth if i were to sell it? with trailer or without? i would really appreciate your in put on this.

Re: Whats it worth?

A lot depends on when and where you want to sell it.

You have a good window right now. A lot of folks with big, heavy, thirsty boats are looking to add or replace with a more economical vessel. My Son in Law called yesterday for advice on that very subject. I told him to look for a 14' tinny with a "mature" JohnnyRude 18 or 20 on it.

Ebay and craigslist should give you a ballpark number. Selling prices on eBay and asking prices on your local craigslist less 10-20%.

Re: Whats it worth?

would it be worth it to add a 300 dollar trailer to the mix? would it be likely to find one for closer to 200 instead? what would one go for with a trailer?

i appreciate the help guys. i like this site alot.

Sounds like the 1960's 14ft Alumacraft and 1964 18hp Evinrude my Grandpa has and might be selling. Great setup for the lakes around here.

I have been checking craiglist for him and around here $900 to $2000 seems to be the market. (With a trailer though)

Re: Whats it worth?

If it were me I would try and find a cheap trailer on craigslist and make it a package deal. Not many people looking at boats have spare trailers or the time to find one. "Lake Ready" is a big deal.

Thats just me though.......others may disagree.

Re: Whats it worth?

i agree that lake ready boats are what people want. its a pain in my butt to put this boat on the water. having to flip the boat over, push it into the water hook up the engine and troller, load,etc...

i hope to find a trailer soon for my use and when i decide to sell. boat is great just not what i want for bowfishing now. what would be a good startin price. no need to be exact just an idea for boat, 5.5 horse motor that runs good, trailer, and possibly a flip over duckblind.

thanks for your help:)

I agree also, lake ready is the only way to sell. In my area you could get 600 for that set up as is.

A 14' boat and motor that old here would be in the $400 range, add a trailer and in the spring I'd put it out for about $1200 and I'd bet it wouldn't last a week.
You can get a cheap trailer for that from Harbor Freight. They put them on sale from time to time for $250. It's usually better than dealing with an old worn out trailer and most of the time a lot cheaper.
I've been watching the price of small trailers lately, they bring more on Craigslist than they sell for new. I looked at one the other day that turned out to be too small for me, but the guy was asking $600 and it needed both bunks and brackets, and all new running gear. Another guy showed up and took it cash before I left. It was one of those 8" wheeled trailers for a 16' aluminum boat at best.
