Whats my part # for stator ?

Can some body look up the right # for my stator ? 1993 Mariner 115 hp ser# OD136119 4 cyl.<br />I have found some , but they are listed by #s and not by years. Thanx Cooter

You'll need to see the old stator to get the correct part number. <br /><br />If your stator is stamped 398-8778A17 or <br />398-8778A22 then your new part # is 398-8778A23<br /><br />If it is stamped 398-9710A15 or 398-9710A31 then the new part # is 398-9710A11<br /><br />Also there is a "red" stator kit for that engine. If you opt for this route, use the kit that converts to 16 amp charging system 398-832075A8<br />I reccomend this kit as it seems to have the least repeat failures, as well as the increased capacity. HOWEVER!!!! Follow the instructions that come with the kit closely. It is extremely important to do this correctly! Good luck!

The instructions are very good, but you do have to follow them. Check off each step as you go. Be sure you understand & complete each step before you proceed to the next Do not start installing parts that look familiar. If you like, email me directly, & I will fax you a set of instructions for your engine.
