My motor has power tilt and trim. I know what the power trim is, but I am not exactly sure what the power tilt is. I have read that the tilt is a little fin that stabilizes the boat if it tends to go eather right or left, and that you can manually adjust it, but, is there a pump or motor that moves it electricly or mechanically?, or am I all confused?. Thanks for your help.

Power tilt/trim is the process of tilting your engine all of the way for trailer use or all of the way down for hole shots, and any where in between. The trim is called the movement you use while the boat is under way to raise and lower the bow, where the tilt raises it all of the way.

Re: What's power tilt/trim

as said tilt is tilting the motor up, for towing, or beaching, shallow water. the trim changes the angle of the motor in respect to the transom. when taking off from a stop, you want the motor all the way down, as the boat comes up on plane, you want to push the up button, this moves the prop away from the transom, it will increase the speed and performance of the boat, if you go to far, the bow will start to bounce, (porpoising), also if you got too far, the prop will start picking up air, Ventilating. when these tow things happen lower the prop.

You are more than welcome Bill1. It's nice to give some advice back as I have been on the taking end more than once.
