i have a 16' fiberglass tri-hull with a 50hp johnson outboard on it. i was wondering if anyone knew the best size prop for this set up. Bought the boat used and it came with a 14x17 which seems to be far to big for this set up. any suggestions???

My best guess if you say that one is to big, would be a 15p.
What you need to do is get your RPM at WOT and see if its in the recomended range and adjust accordingly. Or go with a smaller "p" prop and then just dont over rev it.

ok what would be the best for a quick takeoff? would a smaller p make it accelerate faster or would you have to go with a smaller diameter??
