I have a 60hp johnson that the needle valves are sticking in the carbs, and they arent the style that clips to the float with a connector either, all it relies on is gravity to release the valve. The valves are sticking in the closed position what can I do to prevent this?

There has to be some crud in the valve seat to make it stick like you are describing. Take the seats out and clean them really good. Are the valves new? When I clean a carb, I always replace the seat and the valve at the same time. Some guys don't, they re-use either the old seat or the old valve and that's asking for the problem you have.

Recommend getting some new ones with the clips. With todays fuels, who knows.
