What's the best way to re-install my brass drainplug???

Hi, I have just about finished laying up my new transom on my doubleskinned rigid raider. I retained the original drainplug, which seems fine, but I just need to know the correct way to install it with regards to watertightness. Can anyone help?

3m5200 adhesive..... it is permanent and watertight.
