What is the difference between a normal home breakers and those used on a boat?
Is there an actual difference, and how, 10amps ac is 10 amps ac no matter where it is. I understand the grounds and neutrals are always kept separate right back to the plug, but that has nothing to do with the breakers. No hocus pokus or magic is there a difference?

The main difference as far as boats go is how they are mounted. marine circuit breakers are designed to screw into a flat panel, whereas the home type CB's are designed to fit in a circuit breaker box of that particular manufacturers design.

The environment in which they are intended for use -- shock, vibration, humidity and maybe salt.
