My wife gave me the go ahead to start looking for a newer/bigger boat .. I currently own 16 foot center console with an 85 hp force....Heres the thing

My wife wants me to get something bigger and more stable. She also wants a boat with a bathroom and a cuddy.. These are all things im not really savy for

I want another center console 21 to 23 foot with at least a 200 hp outboard and a simple head under the helm... my wife and I have 2 wonderful boys my oldest is 3 and my youngest 4 months they dont make it out on the boat but maybe 5 times a season, my oldest is just getting into boating and fishing more and more..

What do i Do.. LOL
thanks

What will you be doing with the boat most of the time? Define your mission and select the boat that best meets it. If your family is part of the defined boating mission, then accommodations must be made for them.

Check out the walkarounds. It'll give you close to the access of a center console, and will have a cuddy for the wife and kids. Porta-potties work well. I had similar parameters set up by the admiral. the walkaround style makes for a great fishing and family boat.

Yep. Get the cuddy.

+2. Gives a little bit of privacy for the admiral, and a place for the little ones to get out of the sun for a nap.

I ran a 21' Pro-Line W/A with a 175 Johnson before the current boat. I liked it.

Walkaround sounds like the ticket.

That is W/A territory.

Fishing boat by day, family boat by night. Lots of cockpit space with full access to the bow. The cockpit on my 22' is big enough that I can use 2 full size chase lounges on the back deck. Throw in a full enclosure for the helm and weather pretty much becomes a none issue.

Some of this is going to depend on what kind of fishing you do. If you're trolling it doesn't really matter. If you want to cast and you want more than a couple people fishing with you, you will want to think about how that is going to work. My boat is more of a cruiser, but the top of the cuddy is a great fly casting platform as I have no bow rail to speak of and nothing to snag. That said, landing a fish from five feet above the water or trying to climb down to the cockpit while fighting a fish isn't exactly graceful.
