I have an 17ft Klamath aluminum, the raised forward & rear decks are ? inch plywood. The top side ply consists of a smooth hard deck material which is (was..) painted a speckle blue.

As this stuff is 20 years old I am needing to replace it, not sure what this stuff is called ? In looking through pervious posts I have came across it, however I don?t recall what search terms I used and I am now unable to locate it.

I plan to paint the surface again.

Probably hardened Masonite. The plant closed several years ago. The process is still used but I don't think it's anywhere near the product that the Masonite plant produced. The old stuff would withstand moisture.

Wow, your deck seems to be my countertop. If my countertop wasn't so expensive I would now be tempted to use it as my new boat flooring.

Thanks Bond-O, I recall it had a series of letters associated with it. Now I can spend some time searching the forum for the Pro?s & Con?s.

I must be loosing it; I spent my younger life packing concrete forms around, Ya? think I would remember it?s the same stuff? maybe it was that board that hit me in the hard hat I wasn?t wearing ;-)
