Whats the numbers stand for?

On a mercruiser, theres lots of numbers. I'm confused with what the numbers
250 - GM 350 v8, or 260 - GM 350 v8, stand for. Is the 250, an/or 260 the
horse power of the 350v8, or is that the model #. ??

The 250 = Horsepower rating
350 = cubic inches (also referred to as 5.7 liters)
v8 = eight cylinders arranged in a "v"
