I'm not sure there was such a thing. I think the "stock" props ended with the 20s. Too many variables to have a stock prop on most any motor, but the Market makes some such decisions instead of Logic. Educated guess says use an 11 for skiing, a 13 for speed. A 12 would be good for average use. That could shift an inch either way depending on the health of the motor and the design of the boat.

In most cases yes. It won't be at tournament speeds though.

would a 15 pitch be to much? i can get one really cheap......

yes a 50 will tow a skier, i had an old Chrysler 50 and it could tow a skier, heck i've even skied behind a 12ft tin boat with a 9.9HP merc. lol.

On a 15' hull I would say that you wont get enough WOT rpm with a 15. I have the same motor with a 14 P on a 13' 2" glass hull (no Tach) and I get 35 mph at WOT. My guess is a 12 or 13 P. :)

BTW - when I purchased my boat it was set up for skiing. Great motors those 500's! :D

I've got a 500 with a 12p. I used to turn about 5k, but am down to 4200 or so(carb problem, I think)It will still plane out a 200lb dude on a tube. I have to run a half circle within the radius of the rope length and then straighten her out though :D :D It's mounted on a 1756 GenIII duckboat
