It depends... There are so many variables when pricing out boats and motors. Especially older ones.

The price seems fair to me but not a screaming deal.

However, in my opinion a good running dependable motor is priceless no matter how old it is.

Do a thump test (edge of a coin works good) on the transom, and the jump test on the floors. Wet/rotten transom has a hollow sound. Weak floors feel like a trampoline.

A wet boat of that make/vintage is worthless.

That leaves the motor.

Jump on that carpet and you'll probably go right through.

I bought an 88 tracker 1800 that is pristine, looks like it's 2 years old. I'm dealing with a wet transom and floors because I didn't know what I just told you to do. The boat's worth the trouble, but it's a close call.

I'll fix what I can, try to forget the rest, plan on running it a couple of more years while I look for another hull. The engine on it (1988 XR4) I will run till it throws parts at me at least 6 times. I love it.

thats a heck of a motor my uncle has an 85 xr 2 150 and it pushes his 16ft procraft about 60mph
