What's the value?

Gentlemen,

I have an 84'-85' three cylinder Merc 60 (brown stripe). Even compression, outboard tilt and trim, controls and stainless prop. Idles well and runs solid. No issues. Looks clean I know this is a subjective question, but can someone offer a value on the motor? I'm about to post on craigslist. I have heard more than one person say this wasn't one of Mercury's finest efforts but she's been good to me.

Sounds like a good engine. Trim tilt looks clean. The engine looks good, and the description sounds like it,s dependable. It might be better to ask what you would consider for the engine. Example Do you think I could get 2500.00 or 1200.00 Them maybe someone could say wheather or not they might be willing to pay what your top asking price would be. Tnis might help you get a round about figure either up or down.

You might check nada.com to arrive at some ballpark figures. Local market conditions can vary widely from their estimates.
