On the front of my outboard in between the choke and the fuel line is an electrical plug. I have a cable that fits in it, the plug is round with a flat bit at the top. The wires that are at the other end of the cable are red and black.

The engine doesn't seem to have an electric start, so would this be for powering lights etc? If so what voltage would it be?

Also does any one know if I can fit a kill switch to this type of engine incase I fall out of my boat!?

BIA standard code: Red is unprotected battery, and black is ground. That would be the charging circuit to a battery.

hope it helps
