What's this boat worth? Things a beast.

This boats been for sale for a couple years now, sitting off the side of the highway. There's a for sale sign but no contact info, or price. Looks like it needs a bit of work, fiberglass is broken in places around the cabin, exposed plywood and what not. All the wood looks rough. Thing is massive though, and who knows, maybe the guy just wants to get rid of it.

Anyone have a ballpark figure of what a boat like this needing work is worth? Figuring lots of glass work and motor work?

Something about it though just makes me want it. Looks great for lake superior, and could be a fun project.

is that the one in the Duluth/Superior area? If so,I've driven by it many times and don't take a second look. There are people that get them and turn them into cabins....lol

that boat would be nice all fixed up. It looks huge and fuel thirsty, LOL. Get it all fixed up and just use it as a cottage on the water.

I'm guessing it use to have contact info on the for sale sign but many years in the sun has faded it away.

At this point, it may only be worth scrap value. Owner probably wants $$$ for it. Take a spin through some of the restoration threads, and you can get a sense of the time and money involved in much simpler rebuilds. If the inside is like the outside, and assuming you are looking at restoring it on weekends, you are looking at a 3-5 year project, and some very significant cash layout. The cost for materials for a simple restoration on, for example, an 18' boat, is $3-$5k in materials (assuming the motor is good). I can't even begin to guess the cost for materials for that.

Figure 30-60k to rebuild it....

No way that's a 3-5 year weekend project.... More like 3-5 lifetimes.
