Hi,

I first like to thanks to all the people that have made posts here on iBoats. Simply using the search feature here have help me in way that I could not have think possible. Now, I finally run into a problem that I can't seems to find answer using the search.

The motor is a Mercury 1982 115HP 6-Cyl. I believe the year is 1982 based on the serial number stamp on the motor. Can any one help ID the clear tube that comes out of the lower unit gear case? I have never seen anything like that. The motor idle fine with it attach. No water comes up either. I am lost...

It's for a speedometer and it's from a aftermarket kit,Won't hurt anything. The small hole in the leg is probably clogged up preventing water from coming out

Thanks!!

You are right, it is clog up. I tried to run compressed thru it, but nothing comes up from the hole on the motor leg.

I may decide to clear it, and actually get the speedo to work. Any idea trick on how to clear the hole? I hate to remove the lower unit for this.

Run a small drill bit into it, spun between your fingers.

Bug nest needs to be removed.
