What's wrong with my power trim?

Hello,<br /><br />I just bought a 1986 Bass Tracker with a Merc Classic 50 (45 hp) motor. I took the boat out last week, and when I was fishing, I would raise the motor up out of the water. But the motor would lower itself (slowly) back down into the water. Can someone tell me what the problem is? Or what I should do to fit the problem. I've got manuals that cover this on three different types of trim pumps that are available on my 90 hp motor (double ram, single ram, side fill) Does anyone know if perhaps these are the same trim motors? If so I'd be glad to scan and email the info pertaining to the particular pump.<br />Carter
