Whats wrong?

I brought my 86 tidecraft with a 90 horse mariner out to the lake this wekend and the motor kep dying because it couldnt get fuel for some reason. The pryming bulb was flat because the engine was trying to suck fuel out but couldn't. I had to constantly squeeze the bulb so that the motor wouldn't die. I think the problem may be the fuel line or the selector valve for the 2 gas tanks, or maybe the gas tanks aren't air tight anymore. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

If the engine is sucking the bulb flat then I would have to say from the bulb up is good.

Something to do with the tank.

I agree, and a good way to test the tank is to disconect fuel line and hook to a tank known to be good. (maybe borrow a plastic portable tank)you could do it before and after the selector valve.
