Wheel bearing help

I have a new trailer that has Reliable hubs I have never seen before. (See picture). I have always had bearing buddies that had a grease fitting. I was attempting to find the grease fitting so I screwed off the cap which I thought was just a dust cover. Oil poured out. There was no grease fitting behind it, and I could see the bearings. There is no grease fitting anywhere on these hubs. There is a plug that is loosened with an allen wrench.

I now can't drive this trailer till I can figure this out. I am looking for anyone who knows anything about these hubs. Do they use oil instead of grease? and, if so, what type of oil do they use? Do I just turn the wheel till the plug is at the top and pour it in?

Any help on these would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Re: Wheel bearing help

yes, those are oil filled there should be a seal or gasket on the cap, make sure it is clean or get another seal/gasket
put it back on, turn it so the allen head plug is at the top and fill it back up. there should be a fill line on the face of the window.
they are just like the caps on semi trailers,I used 80/90 weight gear oil in my.

Re: Wheel bearing help

I have oil filled hubs from another manufacturer, but they don't have any fill marks. The directions are to only fill to about the centerline of the spindle, they don't have to be full to the top.

Re: Wheel bearing help

Thank you for the info..... I found on line a mastercraft trailer manual that has the same reliable oil filled hubs. They say to fill the oil to the top of the reliable mark which would be a little more than half way. I got the oil and filled it so I am good to go.....

Thanks again....
