Looking to replace the bearings and seals on my trailer. Problem is I can not get the wheels off. THey are stuck. I wiggled them real hard and been hitting them on the back with a rubber mallet hard and they will not budge. Any suggestions?

Sit on your butt facing the tire and kick them on each side of the rim. This will knock it loose. Don't laugh it works.:D

Loosen the lug nuts a bit and tow it through the neighborhood a couple times, make a couple turns. They'll come loose.

OK got it to where the wheel is loose and I can wiggle it. Can pull it foward now a little bit then it gets stuck again. Guess I will try the big hammer now

Rubber mallet won't do much good. Needs a good "shock" treatment with something solid.

Re: Wheels stuck

try getting it loose, the driving like 10 ft, don't go around the neighborhood.
Here is a crazy idea, run a 2X4 to the other wheel, and put a jack between the one wheel and the 2X4. And tighten up the jack so it pushes the wheels apart.
might need to people to hold everything in place until it gets tight.

Re: Wheels stuck

Jeff, Is the wheel now loosened from the hub or have you loosened the hub from the axle? Sounds like the latter and the inside bearing is the holdup. If the wheel is loosened from the hub, it should come off without any problem. The inner bearing is another issue.
