you can put your lub back anytime. i don't think your supposed to store it w/o lub myself. yes, you needed to drain it to check it for water intrusion and metal particals, but then ya put fresh lub in it for winter layup.
as for the water temp. that's irrelivant. you can boat in any water temp. however the overnight temps can be of issue. if you start boating now. you would go boating, then empty the water out of your engine, manifolds, oil coolers, whatever your normal routine is. ya just don't want water in your system to freeze. ya store it empty of water if there's a chance of a freeze.
