When embedded photos don't show up

So when I look at some "older" threads....like YEARS old, sometimes the space for an embedded photo has a square from PhotoBucket and the message, "Please update your account to enable 3rd part hosting". Looks like the screenshot below: For example, I want to look at this upholstery thread from 2009, and all the photos are replaced with these squares.

Does it mean the OP's account is lapsed, or the photos are no longer available, or is there something I can do to access them? (I'm not a member of PhotoBucket)

PB has a fix for those using them to host pics - Pay PB 400 bucks.

Try this fix, it's an add-on for Firefox or Chrome, don't know if there is one for IE. The add-on has been working, but no idea if or when PB will kill it too. The add-on may not be 100%, but it shows most pics.

Nope. Nothing works. Still boxes. Oh, well. Moving on.
