when to change water separator???

with all the talk of the ethanol and other related factors how often should the water separator be changed to help combat rough running motors and such???? also when should you change the gas line????

I don't change mine at a fixed interval. I do dump the contents into a glass pitcher from time to time and If I find water or crud I replace them. If not they go back on. My rig is almost 20 years old and I have not changed the fuel lines and have no reason to.

If the gas line is cracked or worn anyplace then replace otherwise leave the gas line.
