Uh, whats the law there for number of rods? Here in summer, one rod per person. In Winter, 2 rods/tip ups per person.

To the question, yes, I would cast a rod out to either side of him,,, so any fish cruising down the beach would see my rig first.

I'd love to see the action if a school came cruising by, and Mr. 10Rods got bit on everything soaking...

Man, that is ridiculous. Maybe he's got a bunch of buddies who all went to do business in the bushes and he's just watching their lines. Doubtful.

^^that's what I said. We just laughed (pretty much in amazement) and went over to the other cliff. One rod each out there. It's San Pablo Bay off the cliffs near China Camp park. I've seen people sneak a rod off the side to try and catch bait fish, but never just go all out like this. The thing that gets me is, no park rangers came by that day. Just about every time I've gone there, one has stopped by at some time or another.

that's cause it was the Park Ranger's day off, and this dude fishing was the park ranger!

Wow, that is just ridiculous. As someone else said, I would love to see what his reaction would be were they all to get hit at once.

I would cast next to him, though. I would hope to catch all the fish and when I left, I'd look at him and say "One rod. Crazy, huh?"

Take two rods and set up on the right side. First cast with rod one goes directly left - with a bunch of muttering about the reel being crappy and needeing a new one. Just reel it back in - with lots of jerking every time you hit one of his lines. Swear up and down that you never had a bad cast result in a fish so quickly! Be sure to tell him he should be using new bait, because you just hooked into a moster fish!

Then - before you start on the huge knot, cast rod 2 in where ever you want. Now sit back and take your time untangleling the mess

Pretty common sight on Atlantic beaches. No equiptment restrictions.

LOL, this guy needs the two ladies and their douchebag male friend I got stuck next to some years ago in a fishing tournament held at a local pay lake (catfish) to fish next to him. I had done pretty well the two years prior but these "ladies" crossed my line 15 times in less than two hours, and the man managed 4 times. In disgust I went across the lake ( the "lake" is narrow but still 50-100 yds wide )....and I be %$##% if the SOB did not throw his line clear over there and cross me again....the heck of it was I had a good spot, but was not worth it. But these would be good candidates to break this guy here from this stupidity.....

Contrary to what one would believe, you can typically tell how relaxed, or should I how bored they are, by the number of rods they are fishing.

If you want to get under his skin have some rotten chicken livers that you've kept frozen but you bring them along just in case this guy is there. In the heat thy'll thaw out ratehr fast. Then you put the container upwind of him (after you've baited up one of your rods, cast it out between a couple of his lines). Then you get close to him but be sure you stopped at toco bell and had refried beans (a coupel helpings). Toss in your second line and talk to him all the time. Pretend you are heard of hearing and keep getting closer to him. Oh, be sure to eat some garlic and look him in the face as you talk. He'll either want to kill you or move ;-)
