After reading multiple posts regarding the treating of raw water intakes with antifreeze versus the "air don't freeze"
posts I think I prefer the opening of drain plugs to make
sure there is no water in my system. Only problem is my boat is a 1999 5 liter mercruiser with carb (alpha 1 drive)that I bought used. No owner's manual came with the boat. Can someone refer me to a website or tell me where the drain plug(s) are for the block?

thanks

Your motor/ drive is Newer than I get to play with very often,+ there maybe some different hoses,+ plugs on it,........
But,.... After All,..... It's a SBC,... Their All the same......

There's 2 Block Drains,...... 1 Just Ahead of the Starter,+ 1 Just Ahead of the Oil Filter/ Oil Sending Unit......
There's 2 on the Manifolds,.......Or Pull the Bottom Hoses........
You'll need to find the P/S Cooler,+ Drain that by pulling 1 of the Big Hoses from it.......
And,.... You'll want to Pull the Big Hose from the Engines Waterpump, just Below the T-Stat housing........
