Where can I find a thermostat housing gasket?

The thermostat housing gasket is leaking on my 1965 Evinrude Fastwin 18hp. Any ideas of a parts store online I can order one through? Does anyone know the part #. Last question, The motor was runing hot so I changed the thermostat and it still ran hot. I finally removed the thermostat totally and now it seems to run much cooler. What risk is involved by not having a thermostat installed? <br /><br />Thanks <br />Ryan

make it i make mine all the time just get some gasket paper from the local auto store and cut it out
