Hey all,

I need a spare tire and rim for my trailer. I have looked everywhere online for a tire and rim assembly. My tire size on the capacity plate is E78-14B or P195/75B14 and a 5 Lug 14 X 5.5 rim.

I only can find F78-14B or P205/75B14 tires or smaller sizes than the one I need. No one seems to carry the E78-14 size or 195/75 14 tires.

Can anyone help me find a reputable company that sells this tire and rim assembled? I really don't have anyone locally that sells trailer tires.

Thanks,

Shade
Your are right the E7814 hard to find. One thing though I would use trailers tires "ST" not passenger car tires "P" unless your boat is very light. I also would only use Radial tires. ST205/75R14

Re: Where can I get a E78-14B tire and rim?

The capacity plate states P but I figured I should use ST since they are built a lot tougher for all the abuse a trailer takes.

I was also thinking of purchasing a ST205/75 14 but I wasn't sure it would fit properly since the trailer capacity plate states the 195/75 14.

I did have an old P195/75R14 laying around and it was a lot smaller than the E78-14's that are on. The rim was from a car so it didn't fit. Maybe a ST205/75R14 will be similar in size to a 205/75R14?

I have about 2 inches of clearance now with the E78-14's. If I get the 205 will I still have enough clearance between the tire and the fender? I guess in a pinch I could take the fender off. And when I get tires to replace my current ones I could figure out a way to raise up the fender another inch or so.

Please let me know your opinions before I order the ST205/75R14 tire and rim as a spare.

Shade
I belive the height will be pretty close to the same. ST = special trailer, 205 = width, 75 = height of tire 75 percect of the width of tire, R = radial tire, 14 = rim height.

A 205 will be a little wider and taller than a 195. Take your old tire in with you or messure with a tape messure.

Call champion trailes and ask very nice people.

http://www.championtrailers.com/

Hi,

I was woundering if you ended up using the ST205/75R14 to replace the E78-14. I am currently having to do the same replacement of wheels and tires to my trailer and would like to use the ST205/75R14

Thank you,
Chris

Re: Where can I get a E78-14B tire and rim?

I purchased my ST205/75R14 C yesterday and went and pulled of the old wheels to make my way to a tire shop, when I layed down the rims to inspect them they seem to be extremly rusted on the back where the bolt pattern is. I will not be putting them back on now I need some new rim. My question is does any one know where I can get some 14" White Spoke Trailer Rims in Los Angeles, CA. ,, I really don't want to spend more money on shipping there rims from across the country.

Thanks,
Chris

You should probably start a new post instead of tacking it on a 6 year old thread. Not sure where you are in LA but the white spoke trailer wheels are available many places. I have bought them at both of the tire stores that I frequent here in the San Fernando valley. They go for around $30-$35
