Where can I look for water blockages??

I took a look at my Water pump yesterday (03 VMax 150 Carb Model)because of low water pressure last season (on the gauge and peehole). It was fried...and melted in places, so I replaced the housing and impeller along with new seals and coller. Water pressure did increase some, but not as nearly as strong as when it was new. When I turn the engine off, I can hear water gurgling back out of what I'm guessing the block. I'm thinking the engine may have a piece of melted plastic somewhere blocking the water. Any way to check for this?..Thanks

you have two problems.
one is someone started the motor without water. thats the only thing that melts pumps. and two most likly the pressure relief valve grommet is stuck. replace the grommet after carefully cleaning the housing it sits in.

Thanks Rodbolt, I have various family members that use my boat ( I know its an excuse lol), but I'm sure it has been run in the driveway with just the garden hose hooked to the backflush hose. I'll check the Pressure relief valve and grommet today. Thanks Again.

do not run the motor on the factory flush hose. it burns up pumps :) .
always use the muffs
