I just rebuilt one of the trim cylinders on my '76 888 Mercruiser 1 drive. It had gotten some corrosion under one of the seals in the brass slide and didn't work properly. Now that I have rebuilt it and replaced the seals. Now my drive goes up great, but getting it to trim down is another story. It will try and slowly creep down, but it would take 15 minutes to get there. I can put some weight on the drive and it goes down ok. I can crack the up line on that cylinder and it lowers ok. What did I miss? It seems to work ok on the workbench operating it by hand in a bucket of oil, but it doesn't seem as springy as the other one. There are no visible leaks.
