Where do you buy your boat parts from?

I am about to rebuild the electrical system in my summer project mfg caprice. And I was wondering where do most of you get your parts. I was shocked when I went to Academy spprting good in Texas today the amount of electrical parts that they had and were putting out. They even sell marine wire by the foot.

So do you guys get your parts locally or mail order or just build them in the back yard.

it all depends on what you are looking for. you really have to shop prices, and if internet shipping. sometimes local is cheaper.

80% of the time I will buy local.
I figure the local guy is there for me when I need him.
I have bought maintenance items, and items my local guy did not have via internet orders @ Iboats

The way I figure it if it costs slightly more local than if I buy it on the internet and ship it I am helping out someone that hopefully be here for a while.

I buy local as much as possible. I'm lucky that fisheries supply in Seattle is on my way to work. It is dangerously close.... http://www.fisheriessupply.com
