'88 Merc 7.4L, Bravo1, Webbcraft Velota. I can't stand these nonfunctional instruments, these things are not Christmas tree ornaments. Temp gauge is dead, got a replacement coming. Fuel gauge is dead, and apparently died before I did the engine replacement. I'm not seeing anything about how it's wired in the Merc #9, presumably because it's the boat maker's gig, not Merc's. What's the usual dealio with these things? Would the gas gauge be getting it's 12 volts from under the dash? I think WebbCraft was only in the game for 20 years or so, and I've never seen a manual for this tub.

All the gauges get their power from the ignition switch.

Maht,

Check the stickied threads* up top... I found them to be very useful when it comes to understanding how gauges are wired.

*There are two threads, I think, but then you need to follow the links in those threads too. Sure would be nice to flatten all those out (so the diagrams are in one place).
