where does the insert go?

I am installing a new shift cable and am not sure where the black insert goes and where does the wrap go? thaks ,Bob

Where??..I looked thru every frame and could not find the insert or black bushing...am I blind ..is my wife right??

black insert goes/presses/snaps into the gimbal housing from the inside of the boat to the outside. They can be a pita to put in. Have a look from the outside of the boat where the shift cable slides through, if your old one is still in there then just re-use it.

The wrap wraps around the shift cable where it makes it's bends around the exhaust pipe.
