New to this site...yet I think you guys can help. I think it's a gas/ fuel injector problem.I have seen some posts about this ..yet no actual solutions.I live in the Milwaukee WI. area..and yes ...almost all gas stations have the reformulated or methanol gas. Accept a few that DO sell the old time NON-reformulated gas.In 2005 I purchased a NEW 2005 18 foot Crestliner Fishhawk.I had a 2005 Mercury 115 hp 4 stroke put on it.Break-in period went fine. Also from day 1 I have always used the NON-reformulated gas with a quality stabilizer/cleaner. Every year when taking it out for the first time in spring...for the first 20 min. or so out on the lake it would be a little sluggish...yet it would then clear it-self out and throttle-up just fine.BUT NOW any increase beyond iddle...it BOGGS. The plugs were changed and gapped in spring.Fuel filter changed as well. Fuel filter appears to have no water in it and fine. I can slowly bring rpm's up while bogging is still happening. At best I can get about 3000-3200 rpms...WOT.
While reading some of your posts I read one guy put in a additional fuel filter ....a 10 micron yamaha brand.Sounds fine yet I still have the severe bogging problem.I called the MERC. company direct, talked to a rep. He said it might be the "High Pressure fuel pump". This is supposed to kick in during a higher throtlle position. And that it MAY be clogged. Any help..= Big THANK YOU for any information.
