But, i have a little hose going to telltale on engine cover but it is not connected to the enginge and I cant find where it should be...

Thougt i would se when I run the engine and found where water should come out but no, only comming water fromlower unit.

IS there a water pressure gauge on you boat? If so, someone may have disconnected the telltale and routed it to the gauge.

Re: Where is my telltale???

If your issue is as rickdb1boat says, just put a "T" in the line and you can have both connected.

Re: Where is my telltale???

I believe there should be a plastic nipple (to which you connect the indicator hose) located on the engine's exhaust cover. The exhaust cover is that large 5-sided flat aluminum plate located on the port side of the motor forward of the cylinder head. If there is no nipple there, perhaps someone removed it and screwed in some sort of plug. The exhaust cover is held on by a number of bolts going around its perimeter so if you're looking for a plug, look for something screwed in that doesn't look like all the other bolts. The plastic nipple has pipe threads and sometimes they break but are not difficult to remove.

Have looked around but cant se anywhere where I could guess it would go. I will take some pictures tomorrov and post and se If you you could give me some more hints.

Also, the motor is repainted so if there is a broken nipple it can be hard to findif I dont know where to search.

Re: Where is my telltale???

Think I have different style of motor than Richdb1boat, my wire (for overheating alarm i guess) is on the other side of the sparkplug. Could not take pictures today, will do tomorrow.

Thank for your ideas so far, do you have any more ideas?

That is 100% NOT true

If you are expirienceing that, its because the muffs arent properly covering the inlets..................pump is losing its prime. (and probably not cooling the engine properly since the pump isnt geting water to the engine if it inst getting it to the exhaust cover where the exit for the telltale is. )

Mine works on the muffs 100% of the time.

Re: Where is my telltale???

If the hole you found on the exhaust cover has pipe threads then it is for the plastic nipple for the indicator hose. All the bolt holes are quarter twenty-a different thread. But if that is the hole for the indicator, why isn't water coming out of it when the engine is running? Either the hole is plugged up or you muffs aren't on tight enough.
