On a Bennett system the fuse is usually on the orange wire that supplies 12v positive to the back of the switch on the dashboard, #34 & 35 in the drawing below.
It is 20 amps.

Re: Where is the fuse for the trim tabs on a 95 Carver sig has boat details

Ok where else can I look this is about to kill me.....no fuses anywhere behind the dash except one and it does not go to the switches for the trim tabs.....the picture of the battery with the yellow ? fuse link? could this possibly be part of it......I have chased the wires as far as I can from behind the dash and from the unit itself with no luck.....I am thinking there are some instructions for bypassing the switch and since I can not find a fuse maybe I need to run a wire directly from battery ?? while I am on the topic of fuses how do you remove them (red ones in this picture) finally how do I add fluid to the unit....says automatic transmission fluid.....you know how many types of AF are out there....so does it matter what I add..??? thanks in advance for the help and comments

Follow the orange wire from the trim tab switch. At the end of it you will either find a fuse, or another wire of some color attached to it. Then trace that wire until you find the fuse.

Look at the photo and tell me where the orange wire is.....I do not see one which, is why I took a picture.....and again in photo 2 not that it related but, how do you pull those fuses? and what about the yellow? connectors on battery? I know lots of questions but, figure while I am asking get as much info to work with as I can

It should be on the switch at the helm, not the engine or pump.

and again in photo 2 not that it related but, how do you pull those fuses?

Those aren't fuses, they are circuit breaker reset button for the engine, NOT the trim tabs.

Thank You and for the record the same color wires you see there run back to the helm.....then again maybe that is the problem....there is no orange wire.....I have never used the TTab and odds are the guy before me did not use them either so maybe they have not been hooked up in years.....

That orange wire never did and never will go all the way to the back of the boat. It picks up power from behind the dash. It may be a different color than OEM, who knows what the PO did. No one here can look for it for you, we can only give you suggestions. You have to actually look and thing it through. Look at where the main power should be hooked to the switch and see what color wire is hooked to it, then follow that wire until you find a fuse or perhaps it's connected to the fuse panel.
Post a picture of your trim tab switch from the front and the back, maybe we can show you which wire it is.

Re: Where is the fuse for the trim tabs on a 95 Carver sig has boat details

I stand corrected I must have been color blind the day I was looking so in the picture you can see the elusive orange wire which runs into a connector with a bunch of other wires then it veers off into the abyss down the side of the boat....I can not find a fuse anywhere as far as I can reach so my next step will be to see if I can find the other end running into the engine compartment.....lots of fun there....anyhow is there a way I can hotwire the HPU just to make sure it at least works?

http://www.bennetttrimtabs.com/techhome.php looked at the troubleshooting however did not see if that is possible but, I think I read somewhere how to get the wires hot???

Have you checked to see if there is voltage on that orange wire on the switch? If no voltage, disconnect it and dead end it.
Make a new wire 12ga with a 20A fuse in it and hook it up to your fuse panel under the dash.

You have confirmed the black ground wire on the trim pump itself is grounded haven't you?

Loose wire corrected problem but, since I have never used the tabs before I am wondering when I move them all the way down they only move about two inches is that normal? guessing that might be enough to push the front down but, since I have no idea how much they should move ???

Loose wire corrected problem but,

I assume that means you found a loose wire and not they work ?????? Which wire? Might help others.

When all the way down using the pump, push down on the tab as shown in the picture below and see if it goes down any further.
Its spring loaded and not real hard to push, so don't go crazy pushing on it and breaking things.

It may just need some more ATF in the reservoir. It looks pretty dry in your pictures.
