Where is the generator if it had one?

Hi again,

I have an '88 28' Carver Voyager and it DOESN'T have a genset. But given it has two V-8's where would this genset go? There isn't much room? I wanted to put a small Honda EU2000 down in the engine room somewhere but didn't know if there was a special place for this.

Thank you..

Please do NOT put a portable generator in your bilge! The only "safe" place for a portable is strapped to your swim platform or bow, and even that is risky IMO.

A dockmate has a '84 28 Carver and I think his (built-in marine) generator was in front of the starboard engine.

My 88' voyager has a gen. it sits between the two engines right in front of the transome

Can you tell me more about your genset please? I want to put on in so I would like any and all information you can give if you would be willing.

What kind of genset is it?
How is it mounted
Is it run off the gas tanks for the v-8's or is it a different fuel?
How is the trim tabs and power steering mounted if it's at the transome?
Is there a name brand of the motor?
Can I buy one from somewhere?

Thanks..
