Where is the mixture screw on the carb?

Howdy, i have a 1983 70hp merc that runs ruff. it will not idle for very long without the choke on. i took a quick glance at the engie but didnt see the mixture screw. i know i can find it but better to be safe than sorry. thanks for the help.

You'll have to take the air intake silencer's cover off. Once you can see down the throats of the carbs, you'll be able to see the idle mixture screws at about 3 o'clock.

very nice i found it and played with it but i think i made it worse lol. i made sure to turn both screws the same amount but cannot seem to find the right setting.

You prolly need to clean the carbs... very common.<br /><br />-W
