where is the neutral safety switch on my '07 115 Optimax?

Hi,

Anyone know where the neutral safety switch on my '07 115 Optimax?

...or which wires go to it?

Should be in your control. The wires are yellow with a red stripe. There will be two going to a momentary switch that will be depressed when the boat is in gear. These engines only use the starter (yellow/red wire) to start the engine so if the switch is depressed, the starter will not get voltage to engage the starter solenoid and start the engine.


As a side note, people often misunderstand this as a lockout thinking that the engine won't run. It will run just fine but it shouldn't start when the control is in the in-gear position. It's all done at the control and not at the engine.

Hi...thanks for your post...I also thought the switch was in the control....but there are no wires going to the control...only the cables....and the trim circuit... that's why it seems it's on the engine....

??
