Where is the tell tale on a 73 Merc 850???

Guys, I got my motor running today for the first time in over 10 years!!! I'm stoked!! I need to know though, where the tell tale is on a 73 Merc 850. After getting the motor running, I had water running out of a "grate" looking area on the lower unit. Is this the tell tale? I checked my manual, but it doesn't show or say where it is. Can anyone tell me where it is? <br /><br />To everyone who gave me advice/suggestions, THANKS!!!! Looks like me and my wife are going to the lake this weekend (don't worry, I checked my trolling motor so if the big motor craps out on me, I have back up )

rear starboard side of the lower couling. small plastic nipple.<br />...have fun corm

Thanks corm,<br />I found a small hose/nipple where you were saying,but looking inside it, it looks like there's a piece of metal in there. Almost like it's supposed to be in there. Should I take a paper clip and put a hole in it?

You can do that or take the cover off and you will see a hose that goes to it from the motor.<br />Remove hose and blow out the nipple. I like to use<br />weed eater nylon line to clean the fittings, it snakes through rather well. I wonder however if it is metal where it came from?<br />...have fun...corm
