Where is the water inlet on 2.2 hp Japan Merc.

Hi,
I got this little motor to fire up, but only breifly. I see a tell tail hose (no water came out in this breif run), but where is the water pump inlet? Can anyone give me a rundown of the cooling system on this tiny outboard? I definatly want to replace the impeller and t-stat, if it has one. Thanks-
