2 stroke 6hp

i replaced all seals earlier this year due to milky lower unit gear oil, drained today for end of season.

gear oil is a nice brown, grey so looks like to prop seals held

took off boot and noticed milky sludge in hollowed arm of upper unit (pic attached).

water pump, seals, gaskets were also replaced

did i not seat a seal correctly in the water pump assembly? or is this normal from the quicksilver lube i coated on the appropriate seals when reassembling?

Can't tell from the photo but, is this in the exhaust area? If so I'd say it's oil from the gas mix, left over after combustion. Not a problem.
But let's see what the experts say.

If this is above the water pump as stated and you used alot of greese on the shaft and or splines it will do this but also it could be a sign the lower crankshaft bearing seal is leaking fuel mixture and it,s mixing with the water. Somone here may be able to tell you how to pressure check the powerhead.

yes i believe it from the exhaust but I could be wrong. I'm also curious to know if my lower crankshaft bearing seal is too blame.

It could be but i just did a rebuild and used a lot of greese on the shaft splines. I had to take the LU down several times due to running hot which turned out to be either the housing or the flat metal plate the impellor rides on I kept removing the white ish crap and it got less and less until today I saw none as I didn,t greese it to see if it was the seals and turns out it wasn,t, This will not easily disapate even after being run for some time. Be sure this is not the problem before diving into dismantle o the engine for nothing.
