Okay so i still have this missfire on my evinrude 25 throughout the rev range. I have cleaned the carb, fuel pump, filter, lines and everything. The plugs are new and gapped, there is good compression. The strange thing is i tried is yesterday and it had the problem then stopped it,started it again and it had gone? I dont think it can be a timing issue because of this. Now though its still spitting. PLease watch the video and help me out!

Leaky powerhead seal? When running, take hood off and see if there are any leaks around the seal between the crankcase and block. It should be noticeable when the engin sputters.

The lower oil seal was changed and the top one doesnt appear to be leaking under the flywheel. Maybe a carb rebuild?

Re: Where now?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Is the spark advance/carb linkage in sync?
I have also seen OMC outboards leak out of the flanged seal where the crankcase and block mate up, not JUST lower and upper crankshaft seals. The two halves are mated together with anerobic sealer, not a regular gasket.

Just a thought.

Re: Where now?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Should be two small vertical marks on the spark advance cam above the carb and below the flywheel (Its black plastic, kinda hard to explain). Turn your throttle lever till your carb linkage (roller) is in between both marks. Loosen up your carb adjustment screw on the side of the carb that adjusts the butterfly opening. The butterfly should be completely closed when your (roller) is in between the marks. I probably just confused the hell outta ya. I wish I had pics I could much easier explain. This syncs the carb with the spark advance.

Have you tested the coil or powerpack, as they can also create a miss?
