my boat is bear to put on trailer, especially to crank eye up over roller as is now.....not seen trailer configured this way...had boat 7 years, but now decided to do something to make it easy.
also i would like to make boat even with board runners at back...from pics you can see how runners extend about 3 inches past stern of boat.

can anyone tell me what i need to do to make loading easy..as i am 59 and climbing over the bow to check is gettin out of the question..LOL

if i raise the winch on the mask will this do anything to weight distribution ? also if i move back the mask so boat even with the boards, will this throw off weight distribution? or am i gonna have to redo whole trailer and move boards in more to accomplish making this a good fit for the boat.?

ty for all input

Tried to upload pics.. i keep getting file error....how do i upload pics on this forum http://s1374.photobucket.com/user/ontehunt49nthehunt49/library/

Move the winch and bow roller up bracket up the winch post. You want the roller over the eye, Run the strap under the roller for a fairly straight pull. Also add a safety chain from the eye to the trailer frame.

To do this...I need to slide entire bracket forward on tongue...will this effect anything ? I just removed roller and tried to slide winch up post...not enough clearance on bow..roller bracket hots bow before I get high enough without roller installed

Move the post if you have to. The angle on the post is close to the angle on the bow. Worst case is the post being moved a small amount when you're done.

Ok, I did do that..matches up good. Now new bigger problem..from my pics from back of boat, my boards stick out past boat. I was taking measurements on how much I needed to move bracket to bring boat flush with boards next time I put in water. And pushed on end of boards and they are rotten last few inches at least 😰 So question is...is this something a novice like me can replace or something that needs a professional to tackle ? I assume this is gonna be expensive either way

Welcome to iboats!:welcome:

Replacing the bunks is something the average boater can. There are a number of threads on the subject in this forum section. Before deciding whether to change the position of the boat on the trailer, determine what your tongue weight is. There are lively discussions on this topic, but 5 to 10% of total towing weight is in the ballpark.

H ow can you determine what tongue weight is ? I doubt I can lift it..lol

Borrow the wife's bathroom scale, just don't get caught. And weigh the loaded trailer, then adjust the tongue weight.

option, remove roller and install a bow "Y" guard... those hold bow steadier anyway... will give you more room for loading adjustments too
