I am thinking of buying a 1989 bayliner Capri 19 foot with a 1989 force 125 on it. I am going to take the boat out for a sea trial and i wanted to know exactly where and when water should be coming out from the cooling system. Any other suggestions on what i should look for on the motor while im out? The compression test on all four cylinders was 150 for each one. Thanks for your input!

Excellent compression. Cooling comes out thru a telltale stream at the rear 12" below the motor. These two small holes have a spray of warm water. More spray when the engine is hot, less when it's cooler.

P.S. My marina took my 125 out of storage yesterday. He said the engine runs very well. I know I have 145 psi. I mentioned I may drop down to regular gas from super. He said don't. Wow finally someone who agees with me! After reading these boards for years there are never 150 psi in the tests. That is a high compression, think of using SUPER.
