hi all,

Posting on behalf of my father here. He's looking for a new electric boat lift for his 1989 Mastercraft Tri-Star ski boat. He (and I both) have been using the same lift since 89', it works so poorly it effects how much we take the boat out. He's getting up in age now so he's wanting to find a good source for a new electric one to make it easier get in and out. I've found a few places online but I'm wondering what the board has to say on this. Where do you buy yours? Also I see conversion kits to make a manual lift electric, are these worthwhile? We are located in Michigan if that helps with finding a place to buy.

Regards

I would start by asking at a local boat dealer, Then ask at dealers load on the next closest big water.

I would start with the local yellow pages for a boat lift dealer in your area.

I bought mine at my local marina near my lake house. They sell Docks and Boat lifts among the boats and other power sports. To give you a sense of how the new ones are set up... mine runs on two twelve volt batteries that are charged by a built in solar panel. You can also buy it with a hard wired option. You operate it with a button on the lift or key fob remote controls that you put on the boat key chain and keep one in the house. It also has a lighting system of LED lights that light the way for you if you come home after dark that you can turn on from the key fob from a long distance on the water. The lift was $14,000+. The conversion kits basically turn the wheel for you where as my lift has no wheel and vertically lifts the boat out of the water as opposed to a cantilever style that your dad likely has. You can buy the wheel kit option that lets you roll it into the water and the parking guides that make so it can only go on the lift perfectly. There a motor stop option as well but not sure that is viable with a Mastercraft.
