Where to buy Smart Tabs?

I want to buy a pair of Smart Tabs for my boat, but I'm having trouble finding a US supplier who will ship internationally for a reasonable price, some (iboats included) won't ship internationally at all, and others are asking $50 or more for shipping.
The UK suppliers are even worse, charging £130 ($240) for a pair of tabs that cost just $99 in the US, and that doesn't include shipping either, what a rip-off!
If I'm not mistaken a pair of the smallest tabs weigh less than 4lbs, and will fit in the large Global Priority box costing just $9.

PH, I've seen previous posts where nautijohn lists UK suppliers. Bump your post until he sees it.

I feel your pain about the cost, everything 'marine' seems to be triple the price unless your in the U.S. (exchange rates accounted for).

Aldo

I've tried the UK suppliers Dunaruna, I figure it'll be way cheaper to buy from the US and pay the shipping and duty, like half the price!

Thanx nautiJohn, I'll give them a ring, are they cheaper than the other UK distributors?
They are for my 11' 18hp Glen-L Squirt, hoping to stop the bow rise as she approaches planing speed.
I'm aware of the dreaded VAT and Duty, I buy a lot of stuff from the US and send just as much back, but no amount of tax could make up the difference between the US price and what I've been quoted so far from UK suppliers!

Well I phoned them and they were certainly cheaper than the others, but it'll still be considerably cheaper to buy them direct from the US. Even with the tax and shipping I'll still save 50%, and probably get them just as quickly by Global Priority mail.
I realise these people have to make a profit, but in a global marketplace where I can buy from anywhere in the world there's just no contest.

petrolhead,

Something to consider, I bought a plotter (navman) recently. It cost me $900AUS. I could get it from the U.S. for $500AUS including shipping but the U.S. distributor would not honor any possible warranty unless I sent it back to them, the Australian distributor would not honor the warranty unless I bought it from them. Maybe smarttabs have a different policy, worth checking.

Aldo

....and everything 'marine', in the U.S., is triple what other , non-marine things of similar manufacuring techniques are. Ouch! That make you guys paying nine times what they are worth.

Hey, petrolhead, don't you have a bud, here, in the U.S. I'm sure sumpin could be arrainged! ;)

Yes I have lots of friends over there Boomyal, I think I'll just go that route, easier in the long run.
One supplier just quoted me a whopping $80 shipping "but it could be more, we're not sure!".
Where on earth do they get $80+ when the actual shipping cost is $9? Ever had the impression some places just don't want your business?
