Where to find old junk motors?

I recently bought an 89 skeeter bass boat with 110 Johnson.I am new to o\b motors as compared to old car motors,and have learned quite a bit,greatly due to this site and the help you all have given.I have looked around on line to find a junk motor to buy,would like same as i have but i know thats a long shot as junk per say.I geuss point being i would like a winter project,something i could tear apart and put back together just for learning purposes and not have to worry that i screwed something up,as i just got mine back running the way it should and only have to winterize and put in the garage.Any thoughts or web sites i missed for a newb with a great desire to learn more!!!

Check bulletin boards at your local grocery store, drug stores, and newspaper classifieds. On Thursdays check the yard sales in your town and neighboring communities. The good stuff is gone by Thursday PM.

Choose your 'city' then choose 'boats'. GREAT place to find stuff.

I ended up putting a (free) ad up requesting specifically what I was looking for and had 15 or so replies to wade through...

Yeah, Craigslist is the place. I've even found free ones, and not always in Boats. They have a seperate "free" section- gotta check in there as well.

Look around you for an old mom n' pop place -I've got 2 -3 near me . A boat consignment place / an old merc repair shop / an a couple of long established boat yards . From time to time I drop in chat a little , buy a chart , plug ,sparkplugs , etc . Then the questions about spare junk motors usualy lead to a tour / or "have a look arround out back " A slow mid-week afternoon works well . ( I work 2nd shift) BTW weekends will get you shot down 9/10 times.
