Where To Find Riser Fittings....

My new risers (1993 454) came with a plug, no actual inlet fitting. Need to unscrew the plug and add these fittings. Anyone know where to get these? Are they universal NPT fittings I might find at a good hardware store? If so, what size and thread?

As always thanks guys. I'm always so impressed with your knowledge and your willingness to share.

Found them at my local non-big chain hardware store. They were 3/4" thread diameter and the barb was 1" diameter.

As a side note to ponder, why aren't we concerned with two different metals existing right next to each other in a cavity that holds saltwater? Isn't there a chance of electrolysis with brass and cast iron?

Yes if its brass, but if its bronze then no

You sure it would be 3/4 npt to 1 inch barb and not 3/4 barb or less? I'm not seeing a 1 inch ID hose going to a elbow, actually more like a 5/8 but no more then 3/4

So I shouldn't use these brass fittings?

Regarding hose diameter, my Serial Number is 0F009622. It's a 1993 454 non-MAG Bravo 3 setup (although I now have a Bravo 1 drive). The hose is highlighted in the picture here. I'm going off memory but I thought it was 1" ID. You don't think so?

If its 1 inch ID then you have the right size, the older thermostat housing did use larger hoses

Did some research and the new ones being sold by Merc look just like the ones you have. The original had more copper in them and the part number was 22-866725
