$3000 sounds pretty cheap to me. This item must be strong and corrosion resistant and designed for your boat. It is pretty much a custom job. It is too critical a piece to "go cheap". If it fails, not only would it be dangerous, you are probably going to lose $30K+ in engines and risk thousands of dollars in damage to your boat. If it costs too much to do it right, don't do it.
