Where do you get your cab-o-sil and/or wood flour and/or micro baloons to make peanut butter? The place I usually get my supplies from doesn't appear to have them and I need to get some.

I get mine from US Composites in the 5qt. tubs. I've ordered twice and both arrived in 3 days.

sarg...pick up your local phone book...look under fiberglass....there is propably 3 in your city.....you need resin......cabosil, (sold in a pail) micro baloons. (thats glass bubbles)

the wood flour, is just sawdust......home depots cutting room floor for that.

check the hull extension, for directions on how to mix.....

i mix the peanut butter, before adding the hardner...that way, any leftover peanut butter can be stored in a pail with a lid on it.

af for how much? .....each is sold in a ice cream pail, the volume wont change. so i gallon of cabosil, and one gallon of bubbles, (were talking pails) will be two gallons with the resin IN it......

i also add chopped strands, (loose) for stregnth........

peanut butter is just a tad stronger than pure resin alone, so if the part your doing is structural, add the csm.....

erik mixes wood flour, with it. and that gives some structural stregnth. he uses it for bonding applications.......if you add csm.....your essentially making a resin with fiberglass all ready in it

cheers

I have bought wood flour from bateau.com in the past, it's pretty cheap, comes in plastic bags. I am going to try some of the MAS stuff from iboats next.

Be careful to smooth it while it's soft... it dries like a rock (no kidding, you could use it for making fake rocks).

Thanks erik, that was some cheap wood flour... $15 for 5 lbs (plus shipping)... and it looks like it's high quality (sifted).
